To Lose a Son<\/h2>\n

It seems, in this harsh and callous world<\/p>\n

There is no room<\/p>\n

For the sweet, the soft, the gentle<\/p>\n

Too many compromises to the inner self<\/p>\n

Too many cruel realities pierce the heart.<\/p>\n

How do you love<\/p>\n

When survival bids you<\/p>\n

Case your heart in an iron cask<\/p>\n

Seal your skin in a titanium sheet<\/p>\n

Fulfil the code and not yourself.<\/p>\n

With pleasures locked in an inner chamber<\/p>\n

Love hidden beneath a smile<\/p>\n

Desires crammed in secret corners<\/p>\n

All protected from the discordant demands<\/p>\n

Of a rapid moving, confusing, pitiless world.<\/p>\n

Where do the sweet, the soft, the gentle, find solace<\/p>\n

Where can the heart float free<\/p>\n

Where can the inner self blossom<\/p>\n

Open for all the world to see<\/p>\n

Accepted and un-threatened?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Fashion Conscious<\/h2>\n

Pretty pretty butterfly people<\/p>\n

fluttering in the midst of<\/p>\n

Armani, Gucci, Versace,<\/p>\n

aimlessly ambling arrogance.<\/p>\n

Each, a born again narcissus<\/p>\n

who venerate<\/p>\n

their own frivolous existence.<\/p>\n

Hearts saturated in self-adulation<\/p>\n

oblivious to a brother’s cry of anguish,<\/p>\n

wrapped in a mind that failed to grasp<\/p>\n

the concept of the other.<\/p>\n

Pretty pretty butterfly people<\/p>\n

fluttering in the midst of<\/p>\n

Armani, Gucci, Versace,<\/p>\n

how I long to see you live<\/p>\n

for more than one brief moment<\/p>\n

in reality’s rigorous narrative;<\/p>\n

perhaps to see Serbia’s plight,<\/p>\n

hear the Kurds cry,<\/p>\n

feel enough of Iraq’s pain<\/p>\n
